This photo, taken in 1900, shows the thriving bakery that was in operation for more than 50 years. August Schmidt is standing in the doorway and Anton Schmidt is standing to the left. The first telephone exchange in Breese was located in this building and Anton was the first telephone operator.

This building was located where Johnson's Tax Service conducted business in 2005.
